By now you’ve probably heard about Wordle, the viral daily word game where players try to guess a five-letter word based on feedback about which letters are right, wrong, or in the wrong place. And if you’re like me, you’re still playing Wordle every morning while you wait for your coffee to brew or your bagel to toast. The success of Wordle spawned an array of variations on the idea, and they range from guessing chess openings in Chessle to guessing music on the now Spotify-owned Heardle.
But personally, I’m a fan of Wordle because I like words, so I stick to the games that stay true to the original concept of putting letters in the right order. These are the best ones I’ve found — including one that I think is even better than the original!
